Watching E3 Live Coverage
E3 is going on right now and I’m here watching a live stream on GameTrailers.com
NOTE: I only started watching the coverage today at 12:00 pm. I missed the first 4 hours.
So far I’m super excited about:
Skyrim. As if that wasn’t a surprise.
Twisted Metal
Mass Effect 3. I haven’t played this franchise yet, but I just saw the demo for ME3 and I’m stunned. The graphics look fantastic, the integration between game play and cinematic cut scenes are flawless, and the combat system seems completely new.
Kingdoms of Amular: Reckoning
Overstrike. I love Insomniac, They’re a great company.
Dust. The makers of EVE have created a FPS MMO. Apparently its linked between consoles and PC’s, which is interesting. I hope the game is received well.

So… I guess Ubisoft has a reputation for having presentations that range from boring to crazy weird and all of them unsatisfactory. Regardless I gave Ubisoft a chance, and this is what I found during their conference:
The first 10 minutes of watching you play rayman was boring. It was nice to see the new game and I’m excited, but playing a 2d side scroller for 10 minutes won’t keep audiences attention.
Mr. Caffeine? More like Mr. Cocaine. I think you should travel back in time *doodly dooly doot* and stop yourself from becoming a public speaker.
Also this:
Farcry3. Never played the franchise, but the demo looked interesting
Ghost Recon 3: I was reading the live feed of comments and someone said: “Are they playing call of modern warfare 3?” I laughed.
Crash Mania Canyon: Like speed racer?
Dance Dance 3: Again? But not surprised. They’ll continue to ride that game into the ground.
Rabid rabbits on the kinect. Bring ROFL to a new level. Literally.
Assassins creed: The game everyone was waiting for. And then it was only showed for 5 minutes 3 of which were a trailer cinematic.

Sony is up next, and I’m hoping they don’t address the PSN issue for more than 10 minutes, but I’ll just post this now. Check back for an update.
It’s not 5:15 and PlayStation still hasn’t started their conference? Have they been hacked? Nope. a minute later adn they’re starting.
Uncharted 3.
Resistance 3.
NBA2K12. I don’t understand sport games. Like if you wanted to play a sport, why would you substitute the real thing for a video game?
Another Move game. Move Medieval? Bleh.
Slycooper: Thieves through time? I remember playing slycooper as a kid but for some reason I don’t remember having fun. But I’m glad it’s back.
DUST. EVE meets FPS? It looks AMAZING.
Star Trek. I’m not sure about this, but I think the PS Spokesman Jack Trentton unintentionally announced the release of the movie Star Trek 2.
PS Vita! But the 3G is exclusively AT&T. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. BUT I’m not knocking the vita. The Graphics it can handle is insane, and I think the only challenge sony will have is the battery life. I feel like it’ll only last for 30 mins to an hour unplugged. Otherwise it’s superior to any other handheld device.

Day Two E3 coverage. Nintendo started off with a lovely Link montage with a live orchestra playing the melodies. I just hope the whole conference won’t be about Zleda Zelda Zelda. I’ve never played Zelda, so I can’t share the same nostalgia feelings of 90% of the gaming world, but I would think it silly of Nintendo to only sell Zelda in loo of everything else they could do.
Also this translator is awkward and I feel like he isn’t translating word for word. I don’t know, maybe it just bugs me that he talks at the same time of the Nintendo Spokesman, almost cutting him off.
MarioKart for the 3DS.
StarFox64 For the 3DS. Interesting to see this new version of StarFox.
Mario for the 3DS. At this point I’m just expecting to see every Nintendo classic for the 3DS. Can I see Donkey Kong for 500 please?!?
Kid Icarus. Well Damn my prediction was wrong, But sill a Nintendo Classic! However it’s Multiplayer now. You can battle what seems to be 2 other players.
Luigi’s Mansion2. Still A Nintendo Rehash! Lets see some Original Content already!
Pokemon3D Enhanced Pokedex? You can superimpose pokemon and take pictures anywhere. Haha. I’m going to buy this now and then travel the world taking pictures of me and my Pikachu.
Nintendo reveals the Wii U!
Wii on U. WiiU get me a sammich? I Wii, U Wii, We all, Wii wii…. Ok I’m done.
OMG ITS A PORTABLE NOTEPAD/TABLET?! Wait wait, This can’t be their new console….. It’s just a new controller for the Wii. Yeah ok, it’s been confirmed, just a new controller. But MAN does it have alot of Versatility!! I read one of the many comments on twitter/fcebook following this coverage. “Wii U, another amazing piece of tech that i may never get to use in my life. Better hope it’s successful.” I feel the same way. But Lets be serious here, how can you upgrade a console easily? Create a new controller that can easily replace the old ones, and can combine with others to create completely new experiences and styles of game play. It’s a cheap and effective way to present something new, without going completely new. Seems like the Wii is here to stay.
Uh-oh! another bombshell. You’ll be able to play hardcore games like Assassins Creed/Ghost Recon with this new Controller! HOWEVER, I still don’t see a complete conversion of Ps3/Xbox games. So far it’s only a few titles but this this new WiiU does have the potential to completely take over the other two consoles. It just isn’t there yet.
… And I feel that by the time It can take over the other two consoles, Sony will have come out with their version of WiiU. Sony already has experience with handheld gaming devices, especially with their new PsVITA, so making the leap from a stand alone device to a controller wont be that big. And by then Microsoft will have dropped out of the race altogether because they STILL don’t have a handheld portable gaming device. Too busy pushing that Kinect that no one loves.
